MILANO 2008
Premio Nazionale per l'Innovazione
Thursday 27th November - Campus Bovisa, Via Durando 10, Milano
The “PNI - Premio Nazionale per l’Innovazione” (National Prize for Innovation) is the competition that every year gathers the winners of the Italian “Start Cups” - the business plan competitions organized by the universities taking part to the “PNI Cube”. The PNI is the grand final among the winners of the seventeen local contests for the best high-tech entrepreneurial ideas.
The PNI is a “on the road” happening. The first edition took place in Bologna in 2003, while Turin, Padua, Udine and Naples have been the next stops. In 2008 it’s the turn of Milan. The event will take place November 27 at the Politecnico di Milano Technical University - Bovisa Campus. In the near future that same location is going to host the Science Park, meant to become the headquarter of Milanese Innovation. Two main events will take place at Bovisa Campus:
- The exhibition. A candidates’ poster section, presenting the finalists’ projects, will be set up in a special area designed by the Industrial Design Art, Communication and Fashion Department (INDACO) of the Politecnico di Milan. There will be about 60 booths, at least 3 for each Start Cup;
- The conferences. Experts, investors, entrepreneurs and authorities will participate to the meetings. The morning panel will be centered on new entrepreneurship and on the financial means to support it. The afternoon panel will compare different incubation models, thanks to the presence of foreign guests from different countries.
In the evening, the Piccolo Teatro of Milano, one the most renowned cultural landmarks of Milano, will stage the prize-giving ceremony. Only ten finalists, as previously selected by the jury, will have the opportunity to confront themselves in the final arena, The would-be entrepreneurs will be accompanied by a talented Italian movie actress: Licia Maglietta.
Two special prizes will also be awarded: one to the best female entrepreneurial idea and one to the most innovative university. The latter is given by the “Gruppo Giovani Imprenditori di Confindustria” (the Young Entrepreneurs Association). The first trophy of 60.000 Euros is offered by the main sponsor Vodafone Italia.
The event is organized by Fondazione Politecnico of Milano and Acceleratore d’Impresa. It is free of charge and open to the public.
