The development model of new entrepreneurial initiatives from the academic world, which is followed by PNICube, provides for the implementation of two sequential organizational interventions:

• first the local Start Cups (and the National Award for Innovation), with the twofold objective of spreading the culture of enterprise among students and researchers of our universities and of selecting the best business ideas
• subsequently the Incubators, in order to supply those tangible services (office accomodation, internet connection etc.) and intangible services (managerial consultancy, networking etc.) which are necessary to new enterprises in order to be successful

The accomplishments achieved by the member Start Cups are highly significant. Considering only the year 2007, the 14 local business plan competitions taking part in the National Award for Innovation that took place in Neaples have generated altogether:

• 733 business ideas collected
• 1.921 participants involved
• 295 business plans presented
• 20% projects of Information Technology over the total amount of ideas
• 28% of female presence in the teams
